Work with us

Support Worker
London
Permanent
Competitive salary plus generous sleep in payments

Are you a warm and caring person that enjoys working with others? Do you like to have fun and to be busy? Are you motivated to see others achieve? Then come and be a Yarrow Support Worker.

Yarrow is passionate about supporting people with learning disabilities to grow and flourish. We provide specialist housing and support for people with learning disabilities and complex needs and are recruiting for Support Workers for permanent and casual roles. We support people across London to have active and creative lives at home and in the community. We are looking for people to join our organisation who share our passion.

You will support people with all aspects of their daily life. As a permanent Support Worker you will work as part of a team supporting service users in a residential care home or supported living service. Assisting with everyday activities such as household tasks, personal care, social activities and meal planning, you will work shifts on a 24-hour rota basis, which includes weekends and sleep-ins. Permanent workers receive additional payments for working on bank holidays and for sleep-ins. You may also be required to accompany residents on holiday.

All our services have permanent staff teams and are supported by a bank of casual workers, who work when needed to cover holidays, sickness and unexpected vacancies.
The work can be challenging but it is very rewarding. As one of our Support Workers said:

“I don’t think there is any other job where people wait at the door for you when you get back from annual leave – it’s so rewarding”.

Although we are very interested in hearing from people with experience in complex needs, for permanent positions you don’t need previous experience of care work. We are looking for people who are motivated, have the right values and are open to learning and committed to the rights of people with learning disabilities. We will provide you with great training and you will definitely develop a wide range of new skills.
