The Gate fashion features in The Face Magazine

Yes it might be New Year but that is not even the most exciting thing happening at The Gate this week: they’ve just received a copy of the new issue of The Face magazine, which includes a full shoot of fashion designed and made there!

The Face is an iconic style magazine and to be featured by their team is a real reflection of the quality and creativity of the work being made at The Gate. With the support of the artists that work at The Gate – Lena Tutunjian, Morag Keil, Haydon Saunders and Jane Fawcett – as well as our fabulous volunteers, the designers here are creating amazing pieces and really pushing boundaries.

The Winter ‘Art Therapy’ issue includes a full feature of fashion made by designers at The Gate, including makeup and accessories:

The Gate also created the backdrops for the shoot, using mixed media to make huge panels bursting with colour:

Well done to everyone involved. This work is truly breaking down barriers and challenging preconceptions about adults with a learning disability.

Our thanks also to the team at The Face who helped to make this happen, particularly their stylist Danny Reed and photographer Harley Weir. They fully involved the designers at The Gate in the shoot and captured their thoughts and ideas in the finished images.

Get your copy fast before they’re all sold out!
