Maura Ireland is Yarrow’s first Market Shaper and Contract Coordinator

We are pleased to announce that Maura Ireland has been appointed as Yarrow’s first Market Shaper and Contract Coordinator. This role is part of the contract Yarrow was awarded for the Individual Service Fund (ISF) services in Hammersmith and Fulham.

Local authorities usually have the responsibility for developing and shaping the ‘care market’, so this new role is a unique and exciting opportunity for Yarrow to support people in using their personal budgets. The role will support people to choose and buy services that will enable them to achieve their aspirations and truly flourish.

Maura brings a wealth of experience to the role, having been a care manager at Yarrow for 17 years, most recently in the Hammersmith and Fulham area. Her main objectives will be to identify gaps in services and to forge links with organisations and individuals who can provide these services to the people that we support. Using this list of approved providers, Maura will support people through the procurement process so that they are empowered to make choices for themselves. Maura will also be involved in the recruitment of volunteers to support people with their outcomes. She will work closely with the Commissioners, Social Work Team and other key people in Hammersmith and Fulham to ensure that the market is shaped as part of the wider strategic development in the Borough.

We are excited to see the changes that this new role will bring to the people that we support. Working co-productively to identify what people really want to do with their time and how they want to spend their own money is core to our Direct Your Support project. We will be sharing our progress here on our blog page, so please do check back and follow us on Twitter and Facebook for the latest news.
