A very busy Market Day!

On Wednesday 26th February Yarrow hosted a Market Day open to all adults with a learning disability in the local community. More than 15 providers gathered at Askew Road Methodist Church to explain what activities and opportunities they could offer. Everyone was warmly invited to come along and find out more, take part in interactive dance and art sessions and shop for their support.

Events like this are an essential element of Yarrow’s Direct Your Support programme, which supports people to manage their ISFs (individual Service Funds). Yarrow’s key purpose is to enable people with learning disabilities to flourish and remain totally in control of how their choices are acted upon and achieved.

The Market Day afternoon was a great success. Lots of people came and had fun finding out about new possibilities. The Dance West session was really popular, and the dance floor was full as everyone joined in:

Our thanks to everyone that came along, including all of the providers. From dance to furniture restoration, art to yoga, pottery to volunteering, there really was something for everyone!
